July 26, 2015 marks the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which was passed on July 26, 1990. The ADA is a civil rights act that prohibits discrimination against deaf and hard of hearing individuals and individuals with disabilities. The ADAprotects the right of deaf and hard of hearing people to have equal access to many parts of life including but not through: captioning on TV and the Internet, the right to an interpreter, the right to have jobs, and much more.
